Tax scale
At a glance
The tax scale is the table of income tax rates. Each band taxes only the income inside it. In 2026 the rates are 9%, 20%, 26%, 34%, 39% and 44%.
The 2026 scale came with Law 5246/2025 (ν. 5246/2025). With children, the rates fall on income up to €30,000. If you are aged up to 25, you pay no tax on your first €20,000, and from 26 to 30 you pay 9%.
A pay rise never leaves you worse off
When your income moves into the next band, only the euros above the threshold take the new rate. That is why a pay rise always brings more net pay.
