Christmas bonus · Δώρο Χριστουγέννων One salary for the period 1 May to 31 December, payable by 21 December. Contribution ceiling · Ανώτατο όριο ασφαλιστέων αποδοχών The monthly gross amount above which no contributions apply: €7,761.94 in 2026. Daily pay · Ημερομίσθιο The pay for one day: the daily wage in your contract, or your monthly salary divided by 25. e-EFKA contributions · Εισφορές ΕΦΚΑ The part of your pay that goes to pension, health and unemployment cover. Easter bonus · Δώρο Πάσχα Half a salary for the period 1 January to 30 April, payable by Holy Wednesday. Equivalised income · Ισοδύναμο εισόδημα Family income divided by the scale of the family, for benefits. Extra hours · Υπερεργασία Hours 41 to 45 of the week, paid with a 20% premium. Gross salary · Μικτός μισθός The salary in your contract, before contributions and tax. Holiday allowance · Επίδομα αδείας The pay for your days of leave, up to half a salary, payable when your leave starts. Hourly pay · Ωρομίσθιο The pay for one hour: daily pay times 6, divided by 40. Insurance days · Ένσημα Your days of insurance with e-EFKA: 25 for each month of full-time work. Minimum wage · Κατώτατος μισθός The lowest salary the law allows: €920 gross from 1 April 2026. Net pay · Καθαρός μισθός The pay that reaches your account, after contributions and tax. Presumed income · Τεκμαρτό εισόδημα A minimum income for the tax of the self-employed, from the 4th year. Severance pay · Αποζημίωση απόλυσης The salaries an employer owes when it dismisses you, by your years in the job. Tax prepayment · Προκαταβολή φόρου Part of next year’s tax on business profits, paid in advance. Tax reduction · Μείωση φόρου An amount that comes off the tax on a salary or a pension.
