At a glance
The answer, and what is worth knowing.
- On a taxable salary of €18,000 with no children, your 2026 tax is €1,843.00.
- With €10,000 of freelance profit on top, the tax becomes €4,323.00, because the profit climbs up the scale.
- You file the 2026 tax return in the spring of 2027.
How we calculate it
Your salary after contributions and your net profit are added. The total goes through the 2026 scale.
The Article 16 tax reduction comes off only the part of the tax that falls on the salary.
For profits, the tool adds the prepayment for the next year: 55% of their tax.
The tax already withheld comes off. You pay the rest with your tax return, or you get it back.
We checked the rules on 19 October 2026. The result is an estimate. It does not replace your payroll or your accountant.
