What do I get if I resign?
What you get when you leave a job.
At a glance
The answer, and what is worth knowing.
- On the minimum wage, leaving on 30 October, your Christmas bonus up to your last day is €738.42 gross.
- Untaken leave is paid, with its allowance if you have not had it.
- Resigning brings no severance pay.
How we calculate it
If you leave between May and December, the tool works out the Christmas bonus up to your last day. Between January and April, it works out the Easter bonus.
Untaken leave is paid on a 6-day week, at your salary divided by 25. The holiday allowance is the same amount, up to half a month’s salary.
The bonus carries contributions to e-EFKA, the social security fund. Leave pay does not. The tax is the average tax rate of your salary.
We checked the rules on 19 October 2026. The result is an estimate. It does not replace your payroll or your accountant.

Frequently asked questions
Do I get severance if I resign?
No. Severance is owed only when the employer dismisses you. One exception: with 15 years with the employer, or at pension age, leaving with the consent of the employer brings half the severance.
Do I get the bonus if I resign?
Yes. You get the Christmas or Easter bonus for the days you worked in its period, at your salary on your last day.
What happens to the leave I did not take?
It is paid in your final pay: the days times your daily pay, on a 6-day week. If you did not get the holiday allowance, it is added too.
How is a resignation filed?
The employer files it on ERGANI II, the online system of the labour ministry, within 4 working days. Since 2025, you sign the filing as well.
