What changes in your pay in Greece in 2026
A new tax scale applies from 2026, with lower rates for children and young people. The minimum wage rose to €920 from 1 April 2026. Contributions to e-EFKA stayed the same.
2026 brings three changes to your pay: a new tax scale, a new minimum wage and new rules for young people. Contributions to e-EFKA, the social security fund, stay at 13.37% for the employee.
The new scale
Law 5246/2025 (ν. 5246/2025) brought six bands: 9%, 20%, 26%, 34%, 39% and 44%. The second band fell from 22% to 20%, and the third from 28% to 26%. With children, the rates fall further.
Young people
If you are aged up to 25, you pay no tax on the first €20,000 of the year. From 26 to 30, the first €20,000 is taxed at 9%.
The minimum wage
From 1 April 2026, the minimum wage is €920 gross and the minimum daily wage €41.09. The public sector got the same rise, €40, on every pay step.
When you see it
The new scale applies to withholding from January 2026. The 2027 tax return will apply it to all your 2026 income.
