In plain words
The decision changes the special maternity benefit of 9 months: mothers who were left out until now can get it too.
Employed mothers, and mothers who were insured as self-employed before.
Insurance as a self-employed person before the job also counts.
A mother who adopted after fostering gets the leave, even if she went back to work in the meantime.
In part-time work, extra hours also count towards the full amount.
You get the benefit even when your employer paid your full salary during pregnancy and postnatal leave.
A second job and work for a seasonal business also count.
